Harlan
Tarbell, who is pictured at left in one of character roles, was
also a performer of note.
In
addition to the Tarbell course, Harlan Tarbell authored some fascinating
books, representative of popular novel 'diversions' of the time. These
books inlcuded "Crazy Stunts for Comedy Occasions",
and "How to Talk Chalk" [lower left]. A skilled illustrator,
Tarbell also illustrated numerous books by others, including "The
High School Stunt Show and Carnival" [also shown lower left].
The
definitive study of Tarbell is the relatively scarce limited edition
written by Eugene Gloye, shown below in pristine condition.
