"Silent Mora" McCord
(1884
- 1972) is pictured performing his Chinese sticks routine, along with
a signed set of his highly prized hand-made sticks, and [below] in his
favored portrait, directly from the front of his personal album.
McCord
came to be known as "Silent" Mora during the early years of
his career for an act he performed without speech, and the name stuck
with him. He went on to do 'talking" shows, as well as an Oriental
style show performed fully in pantomime.
Mora is seen [below left] in this photograph from his own album which
he termed "1st photo of Mora 4 Ball and Net Trick". Mora was
famed for this classic routine, in which small white balls miraculously
appeared and disappeared, dropping from his hands into a net held by
spectators.
